About The Service

People who have lost teeth can relate to the difficulty of having their dentures slip or become loose when speaking, laughing, or sneezing. An overdenture is a dental prosthetic that does away with the drawbacks of conventional dentures. You can eat, laugh, and smile without worrying about the denture moving around!

What are Overdentures?

Overdentures are a type of implant that are installed on top of the jaw bones. There are several types of overdentures:

  • Implant Support Overdenture: These overdentures are removable and can be taken out when sleeping or when they need to be cleaned.
  • Fixed Implant-Supported Overdenture. These overdentures are not removable and will remain in the patient’s mouth until a dental health professional removes them, providing you with a permanent solution.
  • Bar Retained Implant-Supported Overdentures. We install a set of bars where your overdenture can clip on. You can remove these during your dental hygiene routine and sleep time.
  • Ball Retained Implant-Supported Overdentures. This variation offers a change in the retention method by using a ball-shaped implant that could be easily replaced whenever necessary.

Who Can Get Overdentures?

Most people who have dentures are eligible to receive overdentures. Overdentures are typically a great option for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth. However, an overdenture needs a specific amount of jawbone tissue to be supported. Long-term success of a dental implant depends on the anchor component being completely encircled by bone tissue. As a result, patients who have experienced severe bone atrophy may not be eligible for this type of tooth replacement solution.
